I am never quite sure what "general readers" means, but we support every kind of reader and topic you can imagine.
So if your typical reader is academic, that is just fine; the title of your recommendation needs to focus on them. For example, "the best books on the history of the Catholic Church in the 16th century" might be a very academic-focused list, but other readers might enjoy that as well, and we support both fully.
We cover just about anything and have lists on:
- Metallurgy
- Learning to play guitar
- Learning to draw
- Investing
- Religious topics (they just need to make that clear in the title, of course)
- Python
- Very specific computer security topics.
- High-level physics challenges.
If you can share books around it, then we support it :)
[March 2022 Update] We are also working to integrate book metadata which would allow us to distinguish between books for academic audiences versus general reading versus children's, and so on. That will take some time, but slowly we will make this more personal for readers.
Email me at ben@shepherd.com if you have any questions :)
